PPA’s vision, priorities and targets for growing padel in the Philippines through 2028.
Vision
Padel established as a leading sport in the Philippines
To establish padel as a leading sport in the Philippines, accessible to all, fostering community engagement, talent development, and international competitiveness. By 2028, the goal is to expand the reach of padel nationwide, increase youth participation, and elevate the Philippine national teams to competitive international standings.
2021–2024
Building the federation
Federation established
PPA was founded in 2020 as the governing body for padel in the Philippines.
Padel introduced nationally
The sport was first introduced in 2021, when padel arrived in the Philippines.
National competitions begin
Six National Padel Tournaments were held between 2022 and 2024, with a ranking point system introduced in May 2024 — national competition has run every year since, through 2026.
Youth programs
A junior training program was developed and integrated into the British School of Manila’s PE curriculum in 2023, with further expansion planned. Grassroots youth programs have run with Play It Forward since 2024.
International representation
The Philippine national teams took part in the Asia-Africa Qualifiers for the World Padel Championships, marking the country’s first appearance in an official FIP-sanctioned event.
First FIP tournament
PPA hosted its first FIP-sanctioned tournament in the Philippines in November 2024, with more since.
Overseas tournaments for OFWs
Two tournaments were hosted in the UAE in partnership with the Pinoy Padelistas community, engaging Filipino players abroad.
Club affiliation
PPA began affiliating padel clubs and courts nationwide, to standardise operations and resources across facilities.
Scholarship program
A scholarship program for underprivileged children was launched in 2024, offering training sponsorship to develop future professional players and coaches.
2025–2026
Onto the international calendar
Ranking circuit live
The federation’s Professional and Amateur ranking circuit has run continuously since launching in October 2024 — 27 sanctioned tournaments as of the 2026 season.
FIP Promises Manila, four times over
Four editions of FIP Promises Manila have been staged since March 2025, part of six FIP-category events hosted since 2024.
Tenth National Championship
The Christmas Cup, December 2025, marked PPA’s tenth National Championship.
Junior Asia Padel Cup selection
The Philippine Padel Team is set to compete at the FIP Junior Asia Padel Cup in November 2026.
The federation’s own voice
PPA launched its own Instagram and Facebook accounts, moving federation communications off the club account the old site pointed to.
Directory growth
The clubs and courts directory has grown to 33 venues and 80 courts nationwide.
Future Stars Academy
The Future Stars Academy launched in 2025, the federation’s next step in structured junior development.

2024–2028
Strategic goals
A. Sport promotion and expansion
Grow padel’s visibility and accessibility nationwide: court infrastructure in major cities, a national padel league with regional qualifiers from 2027, stronger media and PR outreach, and continued grassroots “Padel Days” with local government partners.
B. Youth development
Build the pipeline of young players who can represent the Philippines internationally: expanded school programs, annual national junior tournaments for ages 10–18, more scholarships for underprivileged youth, and seasonal padel camps with international coaches.
C. International competitiveness
Raise the level of the national teams and the country’s international standing: elite training camps, national team participation in FIP-sanctioned tournaments, a national player scouting program, and sponsorship growth with international brands.
D. Communication and engagement
Strengthen PPA’s channels and community: a dedicated mobile app, a player ambassador program, regular community events, and quarterly publications on federation and player developments.
Targets
Metrics for success, 2024–2028
Infrastructure
Increase the number of padel courts and clubs established nationwide by 2026.
Youth participation
Increase enrolment in the junior training program by 50% by 2026.
National league
A fully operational National Padel League, with at least 6 regional participants, running from 2027 onward.
International rankings
A minimum of two FIP Tour events hosted in the Philippines each year for professional players.
FIP Promises
A minimum of two FIP Promises events hosted in the Philippines each year.
Digital growth
A 100% increase in social media followers by 2026, alongside a dedicated PPA mobile app.
