Sanctioning
What sanctioning means
The federation sanctions competition held in the Philippines. Sanctioning is what allows an event to award international ranking points, to count toward Philippine Padel Team selection, and to be run under FIP competition rules with recognised officiating.
Events outside the sanctioned calendar are free to run, but their results carry no international standing — worth knowing before you enter.

Before the federation moved its full calendar onto RankedIn in September 2024, PPA ran six National Padel Tournaments that built the domestic competitive circuit.

The 3rd National Padel Tournament introduced equal PHP 150,000 cash prizes for men’s and women’s champions. The 5th (5–6 May 2024) and 6th (20–21 & 27–28 Jul 2024) introduced a ranking point system and Beginner / Intermediate / Open levels across Male, Female and Mixed categories, ahead of the federation’s move onto RankedIn. PPA also ran Overseas Filipino padel tournaments in Dubai with the Pinoy Padelistas community — December 2023 (50+ players) and September 2024 (nearly 100 players).
Structure
Levels of competition
FIP-ranked international
Events on the international circuit staged in the Philippines. The federation has hosted six since 2024: FIP RISE Manila, four editions of FIP Promises Manila, and a points record tied to the FIP Asia/Africa Qualifier. Award FIP ranking points and draw international entries.
National championships
The national title events, most recently the Christmas Cup, the tenth PPA National Championship. Restricted to registered members, run under FIP rules, and a primary input to Philippine Padel Team selection.
National ranking circuit
The domestic Professional and Amateur tournaments (“TN” events) that generate points toward the federation’s live national ranking across Men’s, Women’s and Mixed categories.

Apply to sanction an event
Clubs, promoters and partners staging padel competition in the Philippines can apply to have an event sanctioned by the federation.
Sanctioning covers the event’s competition format and rules, officiating standards, player eligibility, safeguarding requirements, and where applicable the process for international ranking points.
Applications should be submitted well ahead of the intended dates, particularly for events seeking international category.
